Sure, just use the blue thread locker. It's more of an anti-vibration treatment than a locker. You do not want to use the kind than needs heat to remove.
BBC, use Loctite. The blue is removable but the #271 red is better. You can loosen it up and if tight a touch of heat will crack them. Your problem is common with these and you will have to watch them. Personally I don't use them but a lot of guys here have. If the rear suspension is in good shape they are not needed. Of course if your alignment guy has an 24" pipe wrench in his tool box and says he's trained in vette rear alignment then maybe they are a good idea.
Mine have never loosened even without Loctite. I do have them VERY tight as I have heard others have run into this problem. Loctite is a good fix for this. I don't have a 24" pipe wrench but I do use a large wrench to tighten it.
Gordon, I should clearify my statement on the 24" wrench- given the choice of Bubba bending the stock rods to align the car or using the adj rods- I'd use the adjustable ones! LOL.
I'm not recommmending using the pipe wrench on any vette repair procedures.
Another option would be to get lock nuts that have holes drilled for safety wire. Those rod ends are probably a 5/8 fine thread and you can get lock nuts that have the drilled holes for the wire.
Gary, the stock strut rods were bent. Looked like that 24" pipe wrench came in handy The camber alignment stayed right on even with the loosened nuts.
Batman, yes, there is plenty of room for a double nut. Wish I would have thought of that B4 I installed. I don't want to have to remove and redo. Same for the safety wire idea.
