Default Fuel Cell ??

Is anyone using an aftermarket fuel cell? Does anyone make a perfect fit plastic or allum. fuel cell for a 1978. I don't want to mod it to much if I don't have to. Thanks for any info.

Never heard of available plastic fuel cells for Vettes. They would be very desireable. You can of course have one custom made from aluminum if you're willing to spend the money. Most aftermarket fuel cells are rectangular and the Vette tank is tapered to fit under the rear body section. I don't think the filler opening is centered either. When I had the 79 I was looking around for a replacement fuel tank and I don't think anyone sold a repro.

I run a plastic fuel cell in my '68 Race Vette..
I used a RJS 5 Gallon Cell.. Fit perfect. Only needed to fabricate a few brackets..

No major fabrication needed.. Just cutting some aluminum brackets and bending threaded rods.. That's it...
