drive shaft removal
Im trying to remove the drive shaft from my 73 and i have the bolts and straps removed from the differential but it just won't budge. What do i have to do to get the drive shaft out? do i have to drop the differential?

The caps of the U-joint are just corroded/stuck to the cups on the yoke. The drive shaft's spline shaft can slide into the tail shaft of the transmission.
Get a long screwdriver, or a small pry bar, get it up over the center section of the U-joint, and pry the joint away from the yoke. It may be stuck good after being bolted in so long. It will come out just be patient and stay with it.
