Not on the Vette but on my Z28 I have the Edelbrock square bore model #1411 with electric choke. The carb seems to be sticking. After I accelerate, when I push in the clutch, the engine continues to rev. I have to give the accelerator a quick pop to get it to kick down to normal idle speed. Is this a choke problem or something else. Any suggestions?
Remove the carb from the car and see if the throttle still sticks. If yes, check to see if it is the linkage or butterflies that are binding.
If it moves freely off the car, then check to make sure the butterflies are not rubbing the intake, and make sure that the linkage is not rubbing on something.
Also, check the throttle return springs and throttle cable for free movement.
I checked the springs and cable, and they seem to be OK. The cable is not binding. What I find strange is that if you give it a quick pop with the accelerator, it goes back to idle. I really was hoping I wouldn't have to remove the carb.
