T5 trans Bellhousing questions?

First of all, I do have the following already:
1993 WC Mustang T5 trans
PRO 5.0 shifter for trans
Used set of clutch and brake pedal and assy for mechanical clutch
75 corvette with removable cross frame (auto)
New flywheel for 11" clutch
Dial gauge and magnetic base
In searching for the necessary bellhousing I have come up with a couple of options and I could use some extra input.
I know Norval, Bernie and 5 speeds have talked on this quite a bit. I welcome any and all advice (no flames please).
1. Is the truck bellhousing part number #15530202? If it is this item seems to be selling in the $200+ range lately. I guess everybody from CF is doing this swap and drove the price up LOL!
2. I do not have easy acces to someone who can produce the adapter plate that has been so well documented here. This has made me look at alternatives. Has anybody used the Lakewood Scattershield for this modification?
3. I have researched (limited by Lakewood's website) on both the models #15032 which is designed for a T5 (Ford input shaft 7.2") on SBC (or BBC) motor and #15020 which is designed for hydraulic clutch but is based on Chev T5 which has different mounting holes and I believe diff input shaft length. Then there is the #15030 which is designed for manual clutch for Chev T5 so mounting holes do not match Ford T5.
4. Now I do not mind going with manual linkage on trans. Pretty much used to it from 67 Camaro racing days. But I will go with hydraulic if it will hold up to street driving and occassional racing. I am just a little leery of the strength of the aluminum bracket on a 1985 truck bellhousing. Would a stock manual linkage housing (either GM orig or Lakewood) with a manufactured steel adapter bracket bolted on be more reliable?
So what does everybody think?
Gentlemen, I appreciate your time and your input. Getting close to pulling body off frame and getting started on drivetrain/chassis.
Txs again.

Hi Dennis,
I completed this T5 swap last year with some advice and help from Norval as well. I used a standard chevy four speed bellhousing and made my own adapter for the hyd slave cylinder for the clutch. I believe the only reason Norval used the truck housing was it had a boss for the slave cylinder to mount to / less fabircating. I had the hole for the tranny machined at work in a pce of 1/2" aluminum plate and the mounting holes I drilled at home once I had the tranny located and lined up.
There are a few people here that have done this swap and have quite a good write up on it / there was even a drwg floating around for the adapter plate. Even with the plate the most important step once you have it is to make sure that you have it dialed in with your indicator. Mkae sure that you dial in the bellhousing too before starting on the adapter plate / do not take it for granted that it will line up using the factory dowell pins / quite often they are out.
The slave cyl. I used was from a 90's vintage chevy truck with an adapter plate that I made (bolts on using some of the mounting holes for the bellhousing) / you will also need the master cyl as well / plus mod's to the linkage to get it work with the pedal set / plus you will need the actuator rod that fits inside the slave cylinder (I had to get this from Chevy dealer).
If you need any help PM me and I can give you more details.
Jeff

The standard bellhousing is lot easier to find (cheaper too) so I may just go the same route you did.
Still would be interested to hear if anybody did this with a Lakewood Scattershield also.

Hard to believe only one guy can respond to this question.
Hasn't anybody used a scattershield for this modification?
With so many new threads daily, it is easy to see how this got buried.
Gentlemen - please - any advice?
Txs
Dennis

Good luck with your project.
I may just go it alone on the other route. I'll post pics along the way.
Txs again.
