LS 364/440 Drops right in?
I'm seriously looking at buying the LS 364/440 crate motor, which comes with a carb manifold setup, as well as a 4L60E tranny to go behind it. It will be going into my 1980 (previously)L-82 automatic. I searched the forum (I'm not very good at it though) and couldn't find anyone putting it in a c3, though I'm sure plenty of people have dropped in LS motors before.
My questions are:
What else does it need?
It has the coil packs with it, but what about spark control? Any recommendations?
Also, what carb would you recommend? I'm thinking about a Holley Street Avenger 670cfm but am open to suggestions.
Does it line up and mount easily, or is there a lot of work to get it in?
I'll be having a shop do the drop in, but of course the difficulty of the work is directly reflected in my wallet so I would like to know what I'm getting into.
They very last thing I'm worried about is hood clearance(I like the stock hood!), but that of course is fixable...
