I noticed that my rear defoster isn't working. Being that I just purchased the car the last fall, I never tested it due to the car has been kept in a controlled environment...until last night! I'm not sure if there is a light that comes on when activated or not. I didn't see a light come on anywhere. Also if it is broken, how do I troubleshoot the problem??? Thanks for your help in advance.
Thanks for the drawing, it should help in my trobleshooting. Also, I notice the switch is in the center position and when I push it foward, it returns to the center. Is this nornmal?

Yes. It pulls in a relay, and when woring a pilot light turns on.
Thanks for everyones help. The problem was the first thing I checked which was a blown 30amp fuse...or should I say a mostly melted fuse! Not sure what caused that, so I replaced it with a 25amp fuse and won't rely on the timer to shut it off until I can troubleshoot it.
I bought an '85 Corvette with the rear window defogger in the fall of 1984. 9 months later I had an occasion to use the rear window defogger and realized it wasn't working. I noticed that when I grabbed one of the rear struts it was extremely warm. It seems on the C4's power gets to the grid through the struts. I ordered two new struts and all was well.
If your grid gets it's power through the struts, be sure to check them as well.
