When i bought my car, the catalytic converter was already gone. in its place was a steel pipe. to me it looked like it was just cut out and the new pipe was welded on. i bet any muffler shop would do it for you cheap unless you can cut it out. the replacment pipe is the best looking area of my exhaust
if you have some sort of cutter like a sawzall you can just cut it out and autozone sells lenghts of pipe and just slip it in place put a u-bolt on each end tighten it down and your good to go, you can also like stated above just goto an exhaust shop and pay them to do it, shouldnt be too much. whatever you decide good luck.
