I have a 78 auto and I was just wandering if I had a C-5 how hard would it be to put the engine and tranny in my C-3? Will the tranny even work? Thanks for any help.
thats what I thought, I think I can do the engine but I guess I will have to spend the $$ and get the old keisler 5-speed. I was hoping to get out a little cheaper.

I am new here but I have a lot of experience with Keisler 5-speeds. You can call The Driven Man for a Keisler system. IM me for the phone number or hit http://www.thedrivenman.com
Sometimes there are alternative ways to put a TKO in and save a little money, but in the end it is better to do it right than ruin something while saving a little cash. Corvettes are getting too valuable to cut them up for the sake of a few bucks.
Thanks Big69Fan, that web page is where I first learned of the keisler system. There is no doubt that if I spend that kind of money I will spend a little more to make sure its done right.
What I ment by saving money was hoping to be able to use a C-5 auto tranny along with the engine. That way I wouldn't have to do any cutting at all, or buy another tranny.
Use a late model camaro/firebird set up. Tranny is on the right end of the car. Forum member Vettedan is doing it as we speak. He has the motor mount brackets already.
Not that I would claim to be unbiased, but I sure like a stick in a Corvette better than an automatic. Like chocolate or vanilla, though, everyone likes one or the other and can't really explain why.
