I have my new Dynomax ceramic headers and was wondering about installation. Small block, no AC, 73 coupe. Will these install without having to remove motor mounts or steering box etc? Is this an easy garage install or should I farm it out where there is a lift and air tools. The passenger side looks like it should drop right in, but the driver side is looking pretty tight. Any lesson's learned would be greatly appreciated.
You will have to install from underneath. Best to get the car high up on jackstands, or find a friend with a lift. Youll also have to remove the Z-bar if your car is manual. No need to mess with motor mounts or steering box.
I have Hooker Super Comps on mine and had to take the starter out. Both sides went in from underneath. Also as stated above, clutch Z bar had to come out and in my case the #3 spark plug as well. Still, very easy to do.
