hei or machanical.........how would u attach the tach cable to the hei or does it have a spot for it? my machnic said for me to go machanical...idk...im a newbi and this distrib thing....i just want my car to idle rite with out messin up like it always does...

only thing to watch for is the HEI fitting under the 74 factory chrome shielding if you want to keep the shielding - not sure it will fit. can take a look at 75's to see what changed . . .

If you're looking to get away from the mechanical tach (personally I would not) you'll need to change your tach to an electric one. I have heard of someone that makes an electric that replaces the mechanical and looks original. Your original disty is probably a point type- there are many kits available to change it to electronic.
