after market smart struts and performance camber rod kit from ecklers order one shows up ,take out of box looks shiney but u-channel looks cheezy compared to oem.Start to install ends that mount on shock mount left side must grind .030 off each shim right side .040 off each shim.But after that mount fine.Figure hard part over wrong,go to mount u-channel support easy,go to mount other end of strut you get two large square flat washers two thiner round flat washers two shims thats it cant be that hard first install square washer put bolt through then through u-channel flat washer shim strut shin flat washer u-channel square washer done start to torque 70 ft lbs .Start cranking not looking just cranking bad position seems like taking forever look at u-channel now shaped like a triangle,wtf take it apart bend it back ,that cant be good . Shimed with more flat washers that I had,called ecklers told them problem call back the next day said supplier changed width of u-channel but did not send necessary shim pack.Dont turn your u-channel into a triangle.

Did you get poly bushings or hiem joints? Sounds like you got the hiem joints and you may have to grind a little on the spacers as some supports develop rust. VBP makes these for Ecklers and we recently ran into the same problem w/another customer. If Ecklers can't get you the correct spacers, call VBP and talk to tech. The u-channel is called a strut rod bracket.
