I have a 68 vette and i bought the complete suspension kit from ecklers, but the sway bar seems to be a little long. the bolts that connect it to the arms are at an angle the sway bar seems a little long for the arms but maybe thats the way its supposed to be, can someone tell me if this is a problem or not?
The rear sway bar does not work with some altered rear springs. The fix is to space the sway bar down from the frame with one or two inch heavy wall box tubing.
Gkull here on the forum could not even install his rear bar with weight on the rear tires.

I think the fix is to purchase a Corvette specific sway bar not a generic Addco bar...but thats just me.

I've installed two VB&P 5/8th and 3/4's and you could not install either one. The length of the end attachment points is not long enough. that is why i had to space the frame attachment point down lower with a spacer.
It just one of the many parts that I have purchased over the years that don't fit.
not the rear sway bar the front, i should of specified, sorry
pics help alot with something like this.
Could just be incorrect mounting of the sway bar or the A-arms.
Or they could have sent you the wrong sway bar.
This may be a premature bash , But because of past experience Ill just go ahead and say....If it turns out Ecklers sent you the wrong one, you may consider not Shopping with ecklers. IMHO They're riding on an old reputation , and dont have the integrity to be a "top" vendor of CorVette products anymore. Theyre about profit margin at the customers expense, Theyve become vague and non commital , They overprice, Theyre shipping dept. is staffed by people who have no experience with car parts, let alone Classic upgrades.
My 2centavos is "Use Zips or VB&P and of course our own Van Steel for C3 chassis, drive train and upgrade parts.

I second for VBP, also consider Van Steel.
Both have great products and top notch customer service.
yeah i can see that ecklers is not the best, ive used zip and i am pretty happy with their stuff. does anyone have pics of the sway bar, because mine didnt have one on there when i got the car, this is why iam not sure.

I have a VBP suspension kit that included a rear sway bar. I couldn't get it to fit because of my slightly extra wide rear tires. I decided not to use it. I have installed the front sway bar.
I don't plan to aggressively drive my car on, say, mountain roads. What I do want is a car that will not oversteer (i.e. spin out) if I try to quickly change lanes on the freeway while accelerating. I think a front sway bar and no rear sway bar will help prevent this type of oversteer.
Further comments about rear sway bars: I think the VBP dual point attaching composite spring is an alternative (of some sort) to a rear sway bar. Also, Tom's maximum strength IRS set up doesn't provide for a rear sway bar - their offset trailing arms to not have provision for attaching to a rear sway bar.
