I can do that tomarrow and let you know. Why do you ask? I'm running a balllast resistor to knock it down to what I assume is about 6 volts, can't remember what the directions said and why when I installed it.
I have a unilite and sorry I can't take voltage measure right now but do know u must use ballast resitor. I think the only way you can skip is if you use one of their hp coils w a cd box. I have a box with the unilite and a cheapo accel super stock coil and it works great.
Not sure of your issue but do now the folks at Mr Gasket (mrgasket.com) are quick to provide product support. Tech # 216.688.8300
Would be helpful if one of you guys could give me the voltage across the coil with the car running and from the + poistive terminal on the coil to chasis / engine ground.
I need someone with a unilite set up to read the voltage across their coil with the key switch on or the car running and tell me what they get.
I checked it quickly this morning and just rounded the numbers since I'm in a hurry.
ignition on w/engine off
+ side of coil is 6.6v
- side of coil is 2.17v
Idle
+11.2v
-8.2v
2500 rpm
+12.2v
-10.5v
I'm using both the stock resistor wire and also a ballast resistor. Power for Unilite is resistor wire only. Power to Pos side of coil is reduced by both resistor wire and ballast. Hope that makes sense.

You have a ballast res.between the dizzy and the coil?

No. I just re-read what I typed and obviously it makes no sense. I posted that in a rush seconds before leaving for work :o
In order to limit the voltage to the Positive side of coil, I ended up using both the resistor wire and ballast to keep the voltage down at the recommended voltage level. The Unilte itself (red wire) is powered directly from the existing resistor wire.
