Hello everybody ! Up for some laughes ?
Has anyone replaced the glas in the inside mirror ? I managed to crack mine loading a long IKEA parcel throug the rearwindow !! Who laughed now ??!! Some of you probably think I´m an idiot loading furniture in a car like this (82CE) Yes I´m an idiot and I`m the kind who really use my vehicle! I´m also living in Sweden where we realy live with IKEA, as you guys also will in a coupple of years ! Belive me !
Anyway, is it some kind of special mirrorglas as its possible to tilt downwords to shut out most of the light from behind ?
Is it possible to just cut a new piece from an ordinary mirrorglas and if so is there any trick getting the cracked pieces out and a new one in there ? It seemes pretty tight stuck under the plastic folding surrounding the mirror.
check with corvette america.... they are a pretty good dealer with interior parts... i don't know what the shipping to Sweden will be, but its worth a shot..
I work for IKEA in Frisco TX to pay for school, and believe me, what you did is nothing near close to some of the stuff that i have seen. One time these drunk college guys loaded three full size couches onto the top of a ford mustang. LOL they didnt get very far...
The glass is very easy to replace if the rubber is still pliable you may be able to work it in without any tools. If you can't get it by hand use a tiny flat head screw driver to work in the last corner but put a piece of masking tape of the tip of the screw driver so the steel don't touch the glass. You can buy replacement day night glass from Willcox.
