My PSCV is leaking real bad, I debating to either put new seals in it or replace it. The valve is not very old the PO put it on before I got the car (3 yrs ago). Has anyone done this before? Is it a PITA.
Thanks, Dave
Not to bad, the rebuild kit is cheap and not much more trouble to do than a replacement
I Bought a seal kit at napa for $8! Was pretty easy & straight forward installing the seals, it only took about 1-1/2 hours from removing, rebuilding & installing. I just got the car back on the road a few weeks ago with no leaks yet.

Its not too tough of a job to do yourself. The worst part was getting the control valve off of the pitman arm. I followed Jim Shea's instructions about 2 months ago. Still not leaking. Here's the link http://jimshea.corvettefaq.com/?page_id=4
I called Napa in the US. and asked for a Control Valve
Seal Kit for a 75 Corvette and they told me they don't sell it. I mentioned it was a rebuilt kit, and they just said sorry, can't help you. Did I not word it properly?
IF ANYONE IS INTERESTED , I HAVE A STEERING VALVE THAT I'M SELLING . IT ONLY HAS 70 MILES ON IT . NEVER SEEN RAIN, MUD, SNOW, ETC . IT WAS BOUGHT NEW FROM ECKLERS . I CAN EMAIL PICS IF YOU'D LIKE ..
JUST EMAIL ME @ BLAKBOLT@aol.com .........THANKS.......
I have replaced several of them.....ON THE SAME CAR. I went through a couple of them before I got one that didn't leak. I had that removal and reinstall down to about 20 minutes.
It sounds like if you rebuild it yourself so that it won't leak, that may be the way to go.
when you go to nappa. It is listed under seals, not power steering. I just got a new one 4 days ago, and not a drop.
Do you have the part number clintwilson, since I seem to be having a problem with these parts people. Also can you purchase the rebuilt kit for the power steering pump also at Napa?
