Need a 1972 Corvette horn relay but have not ben able to locate one to date. Have tried local GM's and GM parts direct. Mid America has one for a 71 and then later but nothing at the 72 year. Any help would certainly be appreciated.
Dr. Rebuild lists a 1972-73 horn relay (#2822108) for $50.00. Must be a rare item at that price.
No, they just know you want one. Just kills me.........any other horn relay is cheap, but I have seen them at elklers, zip, etc. and they are nearly $80.00 for a '72 (I need one also in case you haven't guessed...)
I sell you the one off my '72 here, I"m thinking of redoing that section of stuff anyway, and a differant relay is/would be in the works anyway....it's fully functional...but never off the car, so I can't really tell you about cosmetics.....

Thank you all for your immediate attention concerning the relay. Appreciate the help. However, the $50.00 dollar price does smell of,"I got ya". What's a poor guy to do?????
Try volunteer Vette, there prices are much lower than others. I just purchased a headlight bypass switch/valve from them. The part is $19
thru most parts stores, they had it for $12. Don

The throuble is that some of you are thinking that 35 year old cars should still have modern parts made for them. Actually, I don't think that this is a bad price for a limited production part. Go looking for some of the odd relays, solenoids, etc that are on these cars and you will find that this price is pretty reasonable. Oth, if functionality is all you are looking for, have you tried a search in the local salvage yard for a different horn relay off of a GM? I don't know what fits but I get a fair amount of items from donors in the salvage yard.
