Default Ceramic Headers - Cleaning or Polishing

I've installed Jet-Hot ceramic side Headers a couple of years ago and notice that the headers are covered with some spots this year that don't clean off. Is this a common problem with ceramic coated header? Has anyone has a similar experience and can they be cleaned?

Default Ceramic Headers - Cleaning or Polishing

I've tried bit of chrome polish with an eletric polisher and even though I got a nice shine the spots were still apparent. I'm afraid to use something more abrasive as it might wear the ceramic finish. Do you recommend any particular product that you've had experience with?

Treat them as you would a polished aluminum finish...

Whatever you do, DO NOT use a caustic or acid-based cleaner. Once the ceramic gets etched, it will be forever dull and cannot be polished. See: "http://www.thermaltechcoatings.com/care_and_maintance.htm" for instructions for a similar (but better IMHO) product.

I guess I will be out there with some Mothers this weekend giving it a shot and seeing what kind of results I can get. The bad part is if it works, having to do both of them. Now that will be the killer.
