i had to replace some upper parts on the 79 horn, i need to install the new spring, eyelet and insulator into the hub. i cant tell from the drawings and aim, which goes in first the eyelet or the spring and then the insulator. does the insulator lock in place inside the plastic tube.
whats the proper order, or does the spring fit over the eyelet.
I just went through replacing everything in the horn system cept the wiring. Got it all working finally, so good luck and it can be done.
On the part you're talking about, the spring goes in first, then the metal piece, with the bigger diameter part away from the driver, then the plastic collar captures the whole thing, keeping the spring from popping the metal piece out and allowing it some travel.
On my horn contact kit, the collar was too small in diameter, so I had to reuse the original. Luckily, it was in ok shape, so it worked out in the end.
