I just put new foam and leather on my seats and mine were rusted stuck. I removed and soaked the tracks in WD40 and then gave them a few taps to get them moving. While still wet with the WD40 I sanded all the rust off, it came off clean. Then I used tremclad black rust paint and gave it a few coats. Finally I greased the tracks and put the seats back in the car. My friends say they look and move like new.
Now a little trick to make the seat slider really tight when locked. I tig welded a bit more metal to the lock pin and filed it to look stock before painting, and then I put heavier springs on the leaver. When my seat locks it is firm. A few other guys I know have a little play in thier c3 seats and you can rock thier seats about 1mm. Not much but it might bother some people.
I Just Asked That About 2 Weeks Ago. From All The Answers On The Forum I Got ,you Can Not Take Them Apart. I Just Srayed Mine Down With Wd And Used A 4inch Grinder With A Wire Wheel And Cleaned Them Up The Best I Could .primed And Painted And They Work Real Nice.
Tracks should be soaked in solvent to remove crud. Spray the heck out of them with a good penitrating oil that will break down the rust inside the track, then move it back & forth...spray...move...spray...move...ti ll you can get most of that rust out of there. Wire wheel the outside and paint outside to suite. White lithium grease is the prefered track lube.

When I asked this question a while back, I got a great piece of advice - let them soak in white vinegar for a few days, rinse with WD40, paint, then use spray lithium grease to re-lubricate. Vinegar is a great acid dip, and you can buy lots of it cheap at Sam's Club.
