odometer/trip

1976,
Speedometer works but the odometer nor the trip odometer works.
What or where should I begin to look.

IF it is the same set up as my '71, there is a gear in the speedometer that transmits drive to the odometer. This gear had a tooth missing so it would not drive the ODO or trip ODO.

I could not find a replacement locally, and wanted my gauges refinished and calibrated, so i sent them off for repair.

I bought a metal wormgear from Corvette Central for about $11. Haven't replaced it yet because it's a pita to get the speedometer out of the dash.
