I just drove to Auto Zone to get my wiper motor in the Vette.. I get home, and go to work.. I have to remove the distributor cap to get the motor, so I do.. and hook the new motor up, but don't completely install it, just to see if it's working.. I put the distributor cap on, try to start the car.. And it acts like it's trying to start, but it won't completely turn over!!!
What did I do wrong?! I tried taking the cap off, putting it back on too many times to count.. I just don't get it!!!
Any chance that the distributor was not locked down and you moved it (changed the timing) when you were removing/reinstalling the cap? And, of course, you've checked that all of the plug wires and the coil wire are firmly in place on the cap? Also, check that the coil wire is still firmly in place on the coil itself.
I'm pretty stoked.. I kept fiddling with it.. Had to hook my other car up to the battery (jump it) All the starting I was trying to do was killing my Vette's battery.. But I did! I don't know if it's right.. so After it warms up and runs for a little bit.. I think I'm gonna shut it off, and try starting it again.. See how that goes..
