Howdy folks last winter I really wanted a set of tan sport-style seats, but at the time, I couldn't seem to find any. Soo, I spent some cash and picked up the set of leather covers (factory leather/vinyl style) and proceeded to install them on my '81. Now I'm happy, and they look friggin great, but then a week later I get a catalog in the mail from "I think" Summit, and what do they have? TAN LEATHER SPORT SEATS! Bah! Now, I still would like those fancyass seats, but I can't seem to find them - AGAIN.... Now, I'm not positive it was Summit, it may have been Jeg's, or JC Whitney, or even friggin JC Penny for all I can remember LOL...
Anyone have an idea or seen them? They look like the APC style on the Summit website, but I can't find them in tan anywhere.
Tell me, am I insane? Have I sniffed too much glue? I did sit in the garage for a long time with the salamander running and got a little loopy once....
I know you can get tan leather versions of these seats I have in mine. They are from a Toyota MR2 and the Spyder. They are sold on Ebay all the time for not much more than $100 plus shipping.

Didn't you say they're Celica seats ??
Summit sells black and tan color sport seats for less than $200 each. I found some bad feedback on LS1tech.com about these cheap seats. Corbeau seats are more expensive but you can find a lot of great feedback from happy customers all over the net....
Yes, mine are Celica seats, but they used the exact same design for the MR2s, only they offered a tan version.
I just saw some Honda S2000 seats on Fleebay, they were dark red and I thought nobody wants them and I can get them cheap.... wrong.... I deleted them from my watchlist at $230 and 5 days left.....
Where the heck in Summit are they? Maybe catalog only? And they notta-so-good either?
I was also thinking about junkyard-shopping too, maybe find something in a leather-flavor, but not sure where to start.

Those look very nice. Are they difficult to bolt up??

Kinda yeah. You have to rig up a plate to cover the seatbelt pocket, and you have to drill two other new holes. Other than that it's not too bad. A little trimming to the feet.

I really like your seats (not getting personal here ) and it seems about cost effective if not cheaper than re-upholstering. Is there a how to thread on putting these babies in?

Not yet. I have not finished my install as I am finishing up the interior and have not layed the carpet down yet. I will post a thread showing what I did and how I did it when I get it finished up.
[QUOTE=Frank_833;1559799874]The tan (they call it Beige) ones are in the magazine ads including March Hot Rod.
Cool, I'll try checking Hot Rod out - I'm so on the fence about my interior! I would really like to do something custom to mine, but everything's brand-damn new, and I really wanted it as stock as possible at the time...
