Default 81 computer question

If I change to a std carb what else do I need to do? Mine seems to have some minor issues. Does anybody in here rebuild them and how much?

Getting a standard carb is an expensive downgrade. Use the people Big2bird recommends, or if you are interested, I'll do it for you for the cost of parts etc. (figure $100 plus shipping should be safe). God bless, Sensei

it's not that big a deal. if you swap out the E4MC (or whatever) quadrajet with a conventional non-computerized carb, the only other thing you have to do is change to a vacuum advance distributor. i'm not saying you won't have a 'check engine' light or throw codes but the bulb is easy enough to remove and who the hell even knows how to pull codes from an '81 anymore???
