I'm calling this a brake issue but not sure. Every so often, the car seems to get in a bind in reverse. Feels like the emergency brake is half engaged, and have to gas it to back up. Rolls forward fine, and after driving a little, it's back to normal. So does this sound like an emergency brake malfunction? Not sure if it's related, but also has a clunking from the rear, very mild but noticable.
Hmmmmm, sounds very familiar.....
I took off the rear wheel disc and had a loose/broken parking brake spring flopping around in there, got it all back together and........clunking sound still there!
Replacing the wheel bearing next weekend.
Check the 12 & 6 o'clock looseness of the wheel. After determining it's not the u-joints, you may have a bad bearing.
It started out only making a noise infrequently as I deccelerated to a stop. I can even take it up the road and nothing happens at all. But when it does, it feels like there's only one lug nut on.
Thanks, sounds like what's goin on here too. If you think about it, post whether or not the bearing fixes it. I was worried it may be a chipped tooth in the rear or something, but a bad bearing is something to hope for!
