Hi again, I did a search and found that rivets need to be drilled/chiseled(sp) to remove the rear rotor. On my car the rivets? sit below the rotor surface negating chiseling, please see attached pic. Parking brake is off and the Rotor is not budging. secondly on the rear brake line there seems to be some sort of C type clip missing at the rubber line to steel tab location. What kind and where can I get this clip?
I geatly thank ya'll for the help.

The rivets are between the lug studs. Use a small bit and drill them, then keep going up a size until the hole is large enough to insert a punch in it. when ther are drilled out enough, you can punch them out the back. If the rotor is rusted, use a dead blow (mallet) and tap it until it loosens up. In this photo, the drilled out rivets are in the top left. The rest is my rusty E brake.
I had a similar problem with my rear rotors. After I drilled the rivets out I still could not get the rotor off. I tapped it with a mallet and worked my way up to a small sledge hammer. Still would not budge. I eventually had to cut them off while being very careful not to damage the spindle. I cut a pie shaped wedge in the rotor down to the spindle. Then I removed the wedge which gave me access to a small area where the rotor and spindle meet. I sprayed this with PB spray and let it soak. I then used a screw driver or chisle and a hammer and tried to get them between the two. It eventually worked. I guess after 34 years the rust between the spindle and the rotor had just bonded the two together. Hopefully someone will tell you an easier way to get the two separated.
Godd luck.
Thanks 73convertible,
I hope I do not have that problem. Do you or anyone else know of some high quality drill bits, just one or two, that I could get at Lowes since it is nearby?
Thanks again
