76 ignition delay.

76 ignition delay.
Ok, just got her, (our 76 vette), home a bit ago and I must say I never noticed this happening before when I was test driving her....not to say it didn't happen.
When I turn the ignition key to the start position there is a split second delay till it fires. I turn the key all the way to the firewall and the split second delay, then it fires. It has never not fired and it does run well, so this just may be the personality of the car?
Our 73 turns over the instant you have the key turned all the way.
I hope nothing major, just something I have noticed on our newest additon.
