Default headlights on 77 lazy eye

When I got the vette a month ago she had a lazy eye, Both lights open fine but when they close the right goes down nice and smooth, the left waits several seconds then slams closed. I lubed them both but nothing helped, then I noticed the left was opening higher so i adjusted the open limit and everything was working fine, they opened and closed evenly. two weeks later and only a few operations of the lights the left is slaming closed again. The only vacuum problem I can find is the check valve isnt working so I have no vacumm when not running.

Im thinking that something is causing the left to hang up and then it gets enough vacuum built up that it slams closed.

any adivse as to what might be worn so much that it hangs up the light would be great.

Thanks

Paul

Try connecting both actuators to one relay. All that is needed is about 2’ of 3/8” vacuum line and 2 x 3/8” tees and one 3/8” cap to plug the unused supply port.
You will tee the existing lines together. Back of the actuators lines together and front of the actuators lines together. The hose that you buy, you will cut in half these hoses will run from the tees to the relay valve.
The hose from the front of the actuators goes to the bottom port of the relay valve.
The hose from the back of the actuators goes to the top of the relay valve.
The hose from the supply tank that is part of the frame goes to the middle port of the relay valve. This is also where you will need to plug one of the supply ports.
The small hose goes to the top small port of the relay valve.
Use the relay value that operates the headlight that opens the best.
I prefer to use just one relay valve to work the headlights and the other as a spare.
Good luck.

Well I got it. Found that the brake over point on the linkage was to tight for the vacuum to pull off. I had to adjust the linkage mount then readjust the eye on the end off the pod, then realign all the stops. Now it works perfectly.

Did a search and read every post about c3 headlights, after getting the lowdown on how they worked I was able to figure out my problem.

This place is great.
