Default Power Window Problem!

The drivers side power window on my 1970 is acting up.

It will power down every time, but will not power up. After I hit the switch a couple of times, it will power up.

What component do I need to look at? Motor, Console switch, relay?

Thanks

Bob

Sounds like a faulty switch first off, so I would swap the two switches so the passenger switch operates the driver's window and see if that solves it. If not, then it's probably the motor, or loose wiring to the motor.

Sounds like the switch. Try spraying some WD40 down in the switch.

Is there a relay that operates the motor?

Also, is the motor a split field? If so, that would explain always going down but intermittent going up.

Will try working with the switch and see what happens.

Are motors still available and are they any good?
