Default Head Light Help Please Read

I finished checking all my vacc inside the car no leaks there. I checked the vacc from the intake and have around 15. I started checking the hose to the light switch that is fine. The hose to the round tube have no leaks But my light will not come up unless I help them, I took the hose from the round tube in front of the rad. and put my vacc pump on it and the lights come up and go down. I can suck on the line and my light will come up blow into the lines and they go down. What can I do the find my problem?

Looking at the digram you posted I can pull the yellow hose from the tank and suck on it and the light will go up, blow and it will go down. The same on both lights.

OK, the gray line and the two yellow are vac supply to and from the tank. The white line is control vac to the relays for UP. When you put vac to the control side of the relay, the light should go up, take it away and the light should go down. Check the filter, thats the first little white gizmo on the line from the manifold, then the check valve, thats the second. With the engine running you should have a GOOD vac signal at the gray line going into the tank. you might need a small hose clamp on the 3 lines connected to the tank, thats how I got mine to stop leaking. Also, if there are little rust holes in the tank the system won't work well. Take the tank off and paint the hell out of it with anything thick, yes, thats a bubba fix

just went thru this myself. with everything hooked up. start the car and wait about a minute for the tank to fill with vac. if they still dont work. pull the center hose off they relay, its the 1 from the supply tank, hold your finger over it to be sure you have vac. check both sides, if that is ok. leave 1 supply hose off and plug it with a bolt, and see if the other light works. then do the same on the other side. if one side works and the other dosent. hook the hoses from the non working side to the vac relay on the working side, and see if that works. if nothing still both vac relays are bad. don't buy the aftermarket junk ones. i have 4 new ones that are bad right out of the box. gm still sells them, buy those. takes about 10 min to check the whole system

I started checking things out today and found that I have good Vac to the reservoir tank no leaks there. I checked both actuators and they are good. I can take the vac supply hose from the right relay and plug it and the left light comes up put it back and take the left off plug it and the right light come up. Both are about the same speed coming up. But when all is hooked up no light come up they try but never go up. I put a T in the red and green hoses that go to the relays and block of the vac supply to the relay I'm not using and both light work fine using only one relay. Lights are up in about 10-15 sec and down about the same. I have about 15 on the vac gauge coming from the reservoir tank and only about 5 to each actuator. I think both the relays are leaking enough to cause my problems. Can they be repaired? If not how much are they from GM anyone know? Tell me what you think

I'm the guy working on the rebuild kit. Not enough interest to justify having a tool made to compression mold a replacement rubber part to original design. Working on a machined part now though.

It's possible to take a relay apart and add a very small cross section o-ring to keep it from leaking. Use a viton o-ring (brown) and it should last for years.
A good hardware store or plumbing supply house or old-timey auto parts storw will have a selection of o-rings.
here's a link to headlight relay repair with good instructions on taking them apart.

Soaking the rubber parts in a rubber restorer almost never works.
