New springs with tool...I can get the top in ok, with the 'indent' But where in the heck is the 'lower' hole??? Am I missing something? It's the same for both doors. The two 'wheels' on each of the hinges move well. Car has been painted, maybe the holes are filled with paint??
So, Any help would be appreciated.
Well at least I'm not the only one with this problem. So, where does the bottom portion go?? does it fit between the two rollers and Not into a hole?? Maybe thats the way it goes. Let me know of your success.
Thanks
Domer.
On my 81, the shot loop end of the spring is on the bottom, long on top. I hooked the bottom end in first, it goes in the slot on the back bottom of the hinge, then used the tool to push the upper part back and tapped the spring down to get the upper end to lock in the detend right by the wheel. It bit my thumb just about then so I needed a beer.
I didn't realize the springs I just got from Ecklers HAD THE DANG INSTRUCTIONS in the envelope it came in ON HOW TO EASILY INSTALL THEM "DUH". So....I went & just installed my spring on my '75 and the short loop is on top (as per the instructions)
