Where does the spring connect at the firewall? I know one end goes on the end of the pushrod, but there's nowhere to hook up the other end that I can see. It is part# SH076 in this diagram:
Mine goes to the bracket that is for the steering column. It is a small hole that is tough to see. I usually put it in the bracket first then go to the clutch linkage.

I might have to drive down there and give you a big old smack on the lips!! I'm sitting here completely demoralized . My pin broke off the clutch pedal and I couldn't figure out how to get it (or the assembly) out so I could fix it..so I tried to JB weld it. It didn't hold up...I was totally depressed not being able to locate anything to help me get this thing out, I figured hope against hopes, I'd check on the forum...presto!! exactly the blowup I need!!!!
