Default Back in a Stingray!!!

Hi, C3ers! I've been a member of the forum for a couple years, since I got back into vettes with my '94. I've had 5 C3s in the past. The first and last were '73s, the first being my only new vette. Obviously, '73s are my first love.

I just picked up a project '73. Although I know my way fairly well around them, I'm no expert and I'll have a lot of questions in the coming months.

First one: I need/want to replace the door panels and dash board. What are your suggestions on vendors for repo interior parts? Quality is more important than relative cost. I've looked at Eckler's and MidAmerica catalogs.

Second: Where can I find info on LTx / LSx conversions? I haven't done a thread search yet on the forum. I know, I know, it's heresy so please don't stone me.

My project car is a solid, low mileage Arizona original BB car w/o motor. The frame is solid, new brakes, suspension, shocks, etc. It just needs interior parts, minor glass work and paint. I want to make it a driver with modern power, mileage and, hey, I just want to try it. I want to drive it a lot and I'm not into garage queens.

I'll build it so it can be put back to original w/ a 454 if the day comes. One thing that comes to mind is that I would have to run an electronic tach and let the stock mechanical one non-functioning. Other considerations??

Welcome back to the dark side!!

Personally, I used Wilcox for all of my interior parts when I redid the cabin 3 yrs ago(dash pad, carpet, visors, console and PB cover). The quality and fit was 100% as far as I was concerned, plus they are a supporting vendor.

Howdy,
Al Knoch, makes really good stuff and supplies most of the major retailers. They specialize in Corvette and also do Camaor/Firebird.
