Timing light question
With the battery behind the seat, where do you guys hook up your timing light leads?

I hook the positive to the positive terminal on the alternater. The ground on the alternater bracket

yea, just be very careful not to let the timing light clip ground the alternator, it lets out the majic smoke

Great idea... I pulled the battery out of my CJ in the garage and set it on a wood block next to the vette and ran the power leads from that (before anyone asks, cyl 1 connection was on the Vette's cyl 1 and not the CJ's
)

I once read an article on how they actually put that smoke in there. Pretty interesting process.

I use the hot terminal on the horn relay. Keeps the wires a little further away from the belts & fan.

I lengthened the positive wire and hook it to the battery behind the seat. The negative wire goes wherever, usually the steering box...

The reason I asked was that I tried to use jumper cables from the battery and for some reason it didn't work. I've done that in the past with no problems.
