I am doing a frameoff on a 1971 roadster. I am ready to install the monospring from VB&P, but the instructions call for jacking the spring end up with jack to engage spring bolts on each end. I have not tried yet, but seems that the frame will not be heavy enough to compress spring to attach. Has anyone out there done this install during a frame off? If so, how did you accomplish install? I also recall reading that the spring center plate mounting bolts can strip out in the differential if not done properly. I think it stated that torqe specs are only for car with body on, sitting fully on the ground. Any help or info on this is appreciated.
Thanks
Michael

1) It is heavy egnough, the spring will compress using a floor jack under the METAL end of spring, easy to figure out under car. Just raise spring up to bolt.
2)Yeah I way over tourqed mine, was on jacks still, didnt even think of it, just read wrench and kept turning, till the bracket did not look right.....
