Default Fram HP4 Racing Filter

Hi,
I just found this filter at AutoZone and was wondering if anyone has used it. The Fram HP4 looks AWSOME and VERY well made. Its got much better flow characterisitcs (the flow holes are much larger than even the PF35 ACDelco unit by far, low restriction filter media, more capacity also and heavy duty threads and a bypass valve. I am very impressed and will be putting it in tomorrow as I am going to the Dyno Friday.

Shy of spending the money for a Canton, highly recommend a Moroso.

I was not aware that Moroso made oil filters. I will have to check those out and get a few. I change my oil every 2500 miles.

Thanks!

As others have mentioned look for WIX filters. The HP oil filters are just that HP filters. They are designed to withstand high pressure. I do run an HP-1 but it is on a full flow Air-cooled VW. A standard filter would just simply explode lol.

Just a note: Moroso's filters are not only "HP" designs, but they also provide very good flow rates since they don't over filter the oil.

Once had an AC explode at speed. Fortunately, it flamed (impressively, I might add) so it didn't oil the tires as bad as it could have. Wish I had that one on video...

Just some food for thought...

The Fram HP4 filters (unnecessarily) to 15 microns, the Moroso to 27 microns. Seems fitting you'd have to run dual Frams (something I used to do) to out-flow a single Moroso, without the bypass valve compromising filtration.
