Default Bumper Re-Chroming Advice

Can anyone recommend a vendor to re-chrome my '71 bumpers? I'd like to have it done in Illinois, Indiana, or the St. Louis area, but am open to anything.

Thanks,

Dan

i am also looking for a good shop to do this. with all the resto work being done on corvette's maybe we can find a shop that will give a forum discount. i would like to have the front windshield molding plated also. i don't mind shipping parts off if i know the quality of work is first class. robert

I think Corvete Fever recently did an article on what appeared to be a reputable re-chroming business that accepted jobs via mail. Can't remember the name though. Anyone remember?

I'm thinking of getting my bumperettes done by
http://www.tricityplating.com/

Triple plate show quality.
Lifetime guarantee.
Anyone ever deal with them?

The article mentioned highlighted Paul's Chrome Plating out of Evans City PA. Their phone number is 800 245-8679 and their web address is http://www.paulschrome.com

What would be the cost range for rechroming the front and rears of a `68 - `72 assuming you provide solid cores? I've seen ads for rechromed bumpers of $ 175 each with exchange and if that is ballpark to have the originals rechromed I would rather go with originals.

Librandi's Plating...Harrisburg/Middletown, PA or Martin's of Philadelphia will both do EXCELLENT show quality plating. Cost....rears about $275 each. Outstanding work from both places. If interested, EMail me and I'll dig up their phone numbers. I'm sure that there are excellent platers in your area. Ask around at some car shows...see who has done work for some of the Street Rod guys. Chuck

Whoa, Chuck, this is a BIG price!
Beat me, but I will get the job done here in Germany for about 180$$ for BOTH.
Its my winter project and I´m glad that I found something thats cheaper here that in the USA!

Thanks Chuck, $175 exchange doesn't sound so bad now. Assuming quality triple plating for a driver I'll probably do that. Librandi's was on my list of options, just procrastinated to long. David.

Dan, if you find something close to St. Louis, let me know, the bumpers on the back of my 73 are good driver quality but I'd rather have them show quality.

I had the rear bumpers from my 73 done about a year ago by Librandi's and they did a beautiful job. They were $175 each. I would reccomend them to anyone. I have a grille there right now and waiting on a price to have the edges chromed. Craig :chevy
