Default Air induction help needed

I'm trying to get cool air into my 408 stroker motor intake and having trouble finding any acceptable route around the radiator. There is about a 24" x 1.5" gap between the top of the rad and the rad support where air could be drawn from. My question is this, what would be the minimum size hose that could support this size engine, 3" ?, 4?, twin 3's, etc. Also, does anyone have any pics of how they have done this that might be from a better location?

Thanks

Paducha, eh?? been a long time, but I been there.....

But it's funny you asking this right now, as if you see the site, my SBC with L98 type injection has had a BB hood add on bulge over the stock SB hood for some 10 years now....a box made for up and under/around the oval K/N cleaner, and mated with a flange and rubber gasket material to the hood opening square....

NOW, I have a hose to 3.25 inch round from that oval....which is plenty for any engine...so to get it up and over, I have just yesterday removed the hinge bolts, made some SS studs from bolts, shaped and filed in a drill press, and have my own hood pins outta marine stainless....same as I had on another car years ago....

so now i'ts the stock rear latches, but not long for the world, working on rear hinge with junkyard hinges....and IF I can make all that work out, I will have a cowl/rear hinged hood, this allows the up and over air induction trick...and having now cut out ALL the glass from under the BB hood bulge, some extra engine cooling, needed in Florida summers....road temps easy 140f.....

I may well chicken out on the rear hinges, and go with pins....dunno yet...

Well, I have the L-88 hood and just opened up the rear to allow airflow to pull heat out of the engine bay. I see the engine bay temp and intake air temp as separate issues that both need addressed and the best way to get heat out of the bay when sitting parked or at idle is an opening that allows the heat to rise and escape. Thats why I used the hood for that. Now I would also like to duct cool air in.
I have seen the Rambox site and will probably buy some of thier products, I was just wondering what size ducting is required.
