1981 performance and mpg.
OK, just done a run on mostly dual carriageway,at 70 to 100 mpg.
Car cruises OK, but does not want to accelerate much at higher speeds.
As my C3 is now near the weight of my bMW m535i, and has 2.8 gearing as opposed to the BM's 3.1, it felt like the BM minus 20%. And over 3000 revs, minus 50 %.
Also filled the tank to the top before the start and now at 155 miles, its half way through the red !!!!!!!!
Think enginewise, I am down to three things, badly matched components, retarded ignition ( non ECU engine ) or badly adjusted carb...... or all 3 at worst.
Bummer.

What carb and ignition are you running? My '81 got like 10mpg whether I floored it everywhere or drove it like a granny when it had the original carb and ignition system failing. Switched to a vacuum HEI and M4ME style q-jet and it jumped back up pretty much instantly.
