Power steering pump
Can a pump get weeker or do they just go out.
Reason for question I have replaced everthing on the front end except the pump all new. Now I have a little jerking of the steering when I turn the wheel. and some times it seems like it is a little hard turning. with the old parts it was very loose and I am thinking that the pump did not have to work as hard. all parts are good quality vbp and I have sent them a e mail also.

It should be factory balanced but there is no pull eather way. vbp says that is comes balanced and when ever in the past it was not ballanced it would pull But I will look into this tomarrow thanks for the replay it seems not many have experence with pumps.not many answers

Here's a trouple shooting chart from the shop manual. Note that there is a section on jerking while turning. There is a pump pressure test in the manual, but it requires installation of a gage in one of the hoses.
