Hey guys school is about out, and we have to a senior experience before we can graduate, so i am working with my mechanic neighbor. I am helping him out with some grunt work, and learnign alot along the was, but when he has no work his deal was he will help me with whatever i had. My response headers. Now i dont know to go with shorties or regular header. Im thinking hooke; unless you guys suggest otherwise. I want to do it once and do i right, so im down with spendin the money. What do you think the best option is. It will be going on a sb 350. Im looking for the best power gain that i can get so please any advice is apreciated.
Not to high jack the original thread but I have been curious about header installation. I have a 1978 L 48 with the rams head manifolds. The previous owner put true dual exhaust and Flowmsters. With a set of headers bolt right up to the exhaust flanges or do you need to cut and weld to make them fit?

ribilly - There are some brands of shorty headers that are designed to connect to the existing factory exhaust. How well they match up, I don't know. No long tube headers will work without modifying the exhaust to match.
