transmission 350TH
Im looking to purchase to original style pan that was on my 77 350 auto . it has a chrome pan on it now that leaks all the time..........my question is did they make 2 styles. one with a plug and one without a plug??????... i found one without the plug for 20.00 .. is this ok??
that looks like a pretty good deal. Tranny juice only gets changed every 25k or so and you should do a new filter then anyway so a plug isn't necessarily all that big of a help. What leaks on the one you have? Is the lip warped? What kind of a gasket did you use? Sealer? Correct torq on the bolts?

It leaks at the plug... But like you said you should only have to get to a plug when you change the fluid and if you change the fluid you should do the filter..... So im going to get it and get it ready for my winter projects...the list is getting bigger.....Oh no UPS at the door.. Must be More stuff for the car..
I don't believe GM supplied trans pans with a drain plug...that's aftermarket stuff. Much of the aftermarket stuff is thin guage stamped steel that is "springy" and constantly causes the bolts to back out...the same thing goes for cheaper valve covers.
Get a genuine GM cover or a quality aftermarket trans pan.
