Default need some help...

guys, i was driving down some twisty roads last night when i decided to see what my brakes would really do, they are soft as he!! right now, i have bled them three times, any ideas? there seems to be no air left in the lines. but i mashed down on them real hard and it had a stiff pedal, but when i started to lock up, it died...what causes this?

thanks

A couple of different things. The first time I bled my Vette's brakes I had to go around the car and do each wheel about 4 or 5 times until I got all the air out. If you've already done that, then the next thing I would do is look for leaks, double check the pads, and make sure know of the rubber hoses are expanding (watch them as someone else presses the brakes).

There could also be runout (warped) in the rotors which causes the calipers to pulsate and fill up with air even after bleeding. You may have to have the rotors checked.
