Larry, I've been using a silicone spray for years on all my cars just before going into winter and during spring cleanup. I spray it on a rag and rub it in good. It's also a good way to get off any dirt and crud. Be careful that you don't get the spray on paint or plastic as sometimes it will spot.

For Corvette weatherstrips I highly recommend the use of GM Dielectric Silicone grease (GM recommends this, too). This product will keep your weatherstrips soft and supple. It will not cause a greasy finish, either, as long as it is not over-used. Apply a very small amount and rub it in. The first time I used this product I could not believe what a great job it did. It is available under GM #12345579 and it currently GM lists for $8.90.
