where is the igntion switch

Yes, it's under the dash on the top of the steering column just forward of the dash mounting flange (the slotted hole to the right in the picture). The rod connects to the ignition lock. Looks like this:

thank god it was not the ignition switch, the 4 wire connector was the problem, able to move it around and when I heard the power antenna going down the rest of the way I was a happy guy. A new connector is in my future but at least I got it started and back in the garage. Thanks to all for your great input.
