Default Have you installed a transgo shift kit?

Hey Everyone.
I purchased a Transgo shiftkit for my 1977, which has a th350. Reviewed the video and intructions. I have a few questions that I hope someone can answer.
First, the video shows the ORANGE spring installed in the pressure regulator valve. But the instructions states that the ORANGE spring is for competition use only. The RED spring is for heavy duty and street use.
Not sure which one to use.
Second, the instructions state that I must modify the governor, and the Modulator. The video does not show this step at all.
Not sure if it should be done.
Any input would be appreciated.

Thank you very much.

Well, if your going to race quite a bit use the orenge spring, otherwise use the red.
Read the docs carefully, they were a little confusing on my 2004R also, had to read it a couple times.

Use the red spring- the orange one will boost the line pressure to the point of it being really uncomfortable to drive. Shifts will be hard, and happen at a higher RPM. The HD/Street spring is plenty. Shifts will be firm, and it will hold when you jump on it..

Guys,
I spoke with Transgo today. The the guy who I spoke to stated that the written instructions are what I should folllow. The video is not up to date.
The governorneeds to be modified by replacing two springs. The modulator needs to have a spring added to it. But, if the installer wants harder shifts, then the spring can be eliminated. Therefore, I will not mess with the modulator. As the old saying goes.. "If its not broken, dont fix it.".
As for the red or orange spring, we have decided that the orannge spring is best. This is due to the fact that the car is not a daily driver, and I am currently building a 383 for my vette.
Its all new to me, so I am trying.
