Default 489 stroker ss

www.campbellautomotive.comanyone heard of this engine, what would i need to change to accomodate a big block where i originally had a small block?
1970 vette with 350/350/380 and a 4 speed.

C3's and BB's were meant for each other. They bolt right in, using the same mounts. You'll need different brackets, pulleys (short water pump setup, only), headers and such, but it's pretty straight forward and worth every busted knuckle making the upgrade. Definitely go with aluminum heads if you can afford them. Saves about 75lbs and you can push the CR a little higher.

Can't say that I've heard of Campbell Automotive, but the 489 is a 4.28" bore (0.030" over 427/454) 4.25 stroke (454 + 0.25") combo, which should have 6.385" rods. My vote would be to bore 0.060" for a 496, as there's no substitute for cubic inches and the costs should be the same. (If the block in question doesn't pass sonic testing for 0.060" over, I wouldn't want it anyway.)
