Speed-O-Meter Trip Cable
Has anyone encountered a hard to turn trip **** on the speed-o-meter on a 70? I have looked at the routing and it doesn't seem to be that sharp a bend. It just turns very hard. If I remove the **** assembly from the dash, it turns quite easy. Any thoughts on how to get it to turn easier? Thanks.

I am with you on this one. Mine is a bear to turn also. I just leave it alone and let it run. I know that is no consolation. I am guessing the only real way to make any easier would be to pull the cable and see if you can get some grease in it.

Mine use to work on my '69, but now is too hard (impossible) to reset. The cables easily kink......I remember some time back, a forum member offered a repair service for them.......(does anyone's still work?)

Yep, same problem. I had the speedo rebuilt and replaced the reset cable too. Still hard to turn. Problem seems to be the tight turn the cable has to make. I've tried repositioning it numerous times and still no luck. Anyone out there that can help us all?
