I swear that I have searched numerous posts and could not find my answer. What is the minimum brake caliper clearance needed for a C3 stock brake system? I was told by a supplier of wheels that I only need 5/8" clearance for the C3 brake system and I think the wheels I was interested in allow up to 3/4" clearance. Ain't a whole lot of room IMO but what do you guys say I need for brake caliper clearance specs.
For some reason I have the impression that the C3 calipers stick a little further out than some of the more modern designs and therefore must be careful that the aftermarket wheels have enough clearance around the spokes for the calipers. Yes..I agree that 1/8" clearance should be fine....I just want to make sure that I have that 1/8" before ordering my wheels as I will not use spacers.
Ahh, now I understand what your asking: You need to know what the minumum inside width and depth is on the back of the wheel to know if the wheels your looking at will fit.
Unfortunately I can't help with that, at least without goung out and pulling a wheel.

I just picked up a 72 a couple weeks ago...Ive noticed that the inside of the craiger mags are being dug out, and in reverse I can hear rubbing....It was too late when I got the car...I will be sure when I change, if I change to stainless calipers....any thoughts welcomed.
Ahh yes...those measurements. Does anybody have the measurements for "A" "C" "D"? That is what I need to tell the wheel guy to see for certain if I have enough room.
btw...here are the wheels I will buy if they will clear the calipers or if anybody already knows these wheels will work please do say so...
