This is what I love about the forum. Haven't heard of them before, but very interested in learning more about them myself. Here's a link for applications...
I use Percy's Seal-4-Good. No more blown gaskets, or leaks ever. I even double stacked the gaskets on my blown sbc trail/mud truck to get a bit more spark plug clearance. One of my spark plugs that kept burning through my spark plug boot. I still never had a leak. Awesome!
I have used Percy's soft aluminum header gaskets on two cars and they "seal for good". The soft material crushes a tiny bit, and forms around the header & exhaust ports to produce a blow proof seal. Also available in copper (more $) but Percy tech said copper is more for higher heat producing performance motors.
Two header bolts on mine loosten'd to finger tight...still NO LEAK

If you can't get MR Gasket ultra seals and some gasket sealer to seal then you have a head or header problem!
That high price stuff is just a band aid for a real problem.
I have never had a header gasket leaking problem like some people do all the time for some reason?
Copper or Aluminum the only way to go. no leaks ever. I even have the metal gaskets between the headers & exhaust pipes. nothing sounds worst then an exhaust lead from a nice exhaust system.
I had a difficult time sealing my round port Headman headers to the “D” port TrickFlow heads. I tried several different types but the gasket that finally worked for me was the Percy’s seal-for-good round port aluminum gaskets. http://store.summitracing.com/partde...5&autoview=sku
$50 for header gaskets????
I used the ones that came with the $89 headers, no sealer or anything and they haven't leaked or come loose!
Its kind of funny , its just a cheap small block Chevy, but put it in the high and mighty vette and it turns into the highest maintance, only the best will do money pit!!!
I used to get about two or three seasons out of old style white header gaskets. I tried soaking them in water before I installed them, that didn't work. Somebody suggested I try Grey colored Felpro #1426 header gaskets (#1426 is the number for O-Ring flanges). They were cheap and have been leak free for a few years now. I might add,you should also check your header bolts frequently for tightness
I have Felpro #1404 (for my application) and they have never leaked. I re-tightened the header bolts after the first 2 weeks use and they have remained OK for years.

I use the Mr Gasket Ultraseals and have no problems. A thick, flat header flange is much more critical to good sealing. I have blown out the Percy's gaskets by overtightening cheap headers and warping the flanges.

I went through 3 sets of cheapies in one season, 3 different types. If you drive the car the way it's intended you WILL blow them out. I am also looking for something better and will
